Hi everyone! It's been quite awhile since the last major update. July was the last one if I recall.
At the time of writing this... (9/21/25)
We've gotten a solid amount of progress done. Since the July 2025 build, a lot has changed.
- Changes since the Dev Build -
We've updated Uffi's design once more. The design on the game page has kept Uffi's messy hair for quite awhile, but we've decided to mix the new design with a former contributor's design for the character.

We've partially integrated this design of the character into the current version. See below:

Their personaly has also changed over time. In the May 2024 progress report, we mentioned how he is optimistic, willing to put others before themselves, especially the ones they care about.
Well, they still retain that protectiveness, but unlike the May 2024 iteration, they won't risk their life if they don't have to.
They especially care about Kris, their biological sibling.
This leads me to talk about a plot point in Chapter 1.
- Story Writing -
You may recall seeing an early version of this cutscene from the BRIGHTSOUL Games YouTube channel (shown below).
I can't reveal much, but you could probably guess from what's shown.
Kris does not know Uffi, but Uffi knows them. All I will say is that The Roaring Knight's stunt severely altered a lot of things in the world.
- New Content -
Yes, you read that right. We have new content to share!
There's been a lot of work on the actual game itself. You've seen how Uffi's design has drastically changed since the release of the prototype build, but there's more we've been doing behind the scenes.
We've got a brand new menu, different from what we've showcased in the past.
Here's the menu that was on the home page before:

I'm quite proud of my work on the menu. I got the initial idea for this when the creator of DONTFORGET Connected posted a handful of screenshots for his game's upcoming update. This included a teaser for his game's main menu.
Of course, the menu could change drastically in the future. I imagine we would keep the current menu, possibly updating Kris and Uffi's menu sprites in the future. They could definitely use some changes.
Save select is minimally changed, but could very well be changed in the future.
We don't plan on straying too far from the style of Deltarune. We want to have everything (the UI, sprites, characters) feel like they fit in the Deltarune universe. Of course, I'm not Toby Fox, so things may feel off. But I hope the game lives up to your expectations.
- WIP & Unused Content -
We'd like to share some unused content, as well as content currently in development.
Initially, I had made a test concept for what the new menu would look like. The idea for two characters in the background was around for a month or so, but I did not end up liking the way I executed the concept.
Originally I wanted to make a menu screen for when you make a save file for the first time. Uffi (the figure on the left) was supposed to be a silhouette, to convey that in the beginning Kris would have no idea who the character was. When you reached a save point in the game, the menu would be updated to reveal Uffi under the silhouette.
There's also a design we'd like to reveal. It is in the July 2025 build, so you may have already seen it. Regardless, here it is.
The Roaring Knight. The one who's responsible for the events leading up to the events after the timeline was messed up.

- Overall Progress -
Our progress has gone well. Despite a lack of team members, I (VioletRosi) have been hard at work with various aspects of game development.
As of now, the story is very incomplete. We've got up until right before the Lightners enter the Dark World written, with sections of Castle Town partially written. Even then, it's in a rough state. And with school coming up, progress will be slower compared to how it is now.
We may have a section of dialogue presentable in the next devlog. For now, I have some ideas I would like to share.
- Idea Talk -
There's some ideas I've had for the paths you can take in this game. I'm thinking about renaming them to something different than "Peacemaker" and "Manipulation".
Here's some ideas I've come up with.
"Purification Route", the Peacemaker Path.
"Partial Fracture Route", the Neutral Path.
"Minimal Fracture Route", a variation of Neutral.
"Fragmentation Route", the Weird Route.
I feel these fit the game nicely compared to the old route names. They will most likely be used in the final game.
- Conclusion -
